VENUE
If you want an ideal illustration of how a traditional musical form can be used to produce contemporary music, this is it. One of the folk albums of the year.

FOLKWRITE
We are all familiar with Brian's skillful fiddle playing, but just catch the lovely guitar work on 'High Handenhold' - super. An inspired recording.

Since forming Battlefield Band with Alan Reid in 1969, Brian has spent most of his time playing music and, although best known for his work with the band, and as a songwriter and tunesmith, he is now making a name for himself as an author. This album features mostly self-penned material - songs, tunes and lilts. Guests include: Cilla Fisher and 'Batties' - past and present - Alan Reid, Dougie Pincock and Duncan MacGillivray, and this album is a worthy successor to his first solo album 'Unstrung Hero'.
